No news here

Ho hum. The Bangkok Post reports that The Dictator plans to be prime minister into the future. Who didn’t know this. In fact, while knowing that there may be political stumbles and obstacles to overcome, this move has been on the cards since before the 2014 coup.

The “news” seems to be that this is reportedly the first time that General Prayuth Chan-ocha has “said … that he would agree to discuss becoming the next prime minister after an election…”.

The constitution drafting and the referendum were all about establishing the means for the military junta and The Dictator to continue exerting their political power.

Now, of course, following the referendum, there are plans by the rightist anti-democrats to tinker with the “approved” document. No doubt those efforts will also come to favor The Dictator and his junta.
